IMPROVING HEALTH AND QUALITY OF LIFE FOR CHILDREN LIVING WITH SICKLE CELL DISEASE AND OTHER BLOOD RELETED DISORDERS IN LANGO REGION IN NORTHERN UGANDA.

The overall goal of the project is to empower and comfort the disadvantaged, needy and neglected children living with sickle cell disease (SCD) and other blood related disorders in Lango region with three main objectives;

  • The project is targeting one thousand (1000) children living with SCD in Lango region in Northern Uganda
  • To change the perception of the community of Lango region about sickle cell disease and eliminate stigmatization and discrimination against the children living with the disease.
  • To address the psychosocial needs of families and children living with sickle cell disease (SCD) and provide hope and comfort
  • To provide health care (treatment), education, and basic support to children living with sickle cell disease (SCD) and their families in Lango region.

What We Do?

We tend to make Uganda a safer place for children with “SCD”

Treatment

children living with SCD and other blood related disorders provided treatment  and living healthy lives

Education

children living with SCD & other  blood related disorders enrolled in schools & complete their education cycle (Primary, Secondary and University)

Basic Care

The project will be run in a participatory manner by project staffs working together with the district leadership, health facility staffs, VHTs and community volunteers with Ministry of Health providing oversight to the project.
